Warriors win with gritty effort
Written by Dave Graff. The SMHA Perth Auto Dismantler Major Atom rep team prevailed 3-2 over St. Thomas in a hard fought Minor Hockey Alliance game at the Allman arena on Sunday.

Carter Musselman took a feed at the right point from Owen Duiker and wired a slap shot through the legs of the St. Thomas goalie to give the home side the early lead part way through period one.  After the visitors picked up some second period momentum and went ahead 2-1, Duiker took a great centreing feed from Zach Carman and found the empty corner of the net to tie the game at two late in the second period. Carter Musselman also assisted on the goal.  Five minutes into period three the Warriors found themselves down two men for almost a minute but some good positional play and relentless checking from defensemen Caelan Trupp and Nathan Graff and forward Caleb Musselman killed off the five on three with no harm done.  Duiker than netted his second of the game at the other end, taking a feed from Braydon Tinning and burying the game winner.  Goaltender Tallyn Soper made a solid pad save on a St. Thomas breakaway with just minutes left to preserve the victory for the Warriors.
