PeeWee Warriors Put the Chill on the competition…..
The Scotiabank Peewee Warriors completed a busy weekend taking three of four points in a two game home and away set.

On Friday night, the Warriors travelled to London to take on the Nationals.  After a scoreless first period, Stratford opened the scoring in the second when Zach Dow ripped a high wrist shot over the glove of the Nationals goalie.  Cal McCorkindale drew the assist and leads the team in that category.  After London tied the game late in the second period,  the Warriors regained the lead when McCorkindale converted a nice feed from Dow to make it 2-1.  Trent Zorgdrager also assisted. Dylan Hall iced the game late in the period on a breakaway, pulling away from the Nationals defense and roofing a shot to make it a 3-1 final.

Liam McCann was solid in net preserving the win.

On Saturday night, in the friendly confines of the Allman arena,  the Warriors battled Burlington to an entertaining 0-0 tie. A relentless fore check  kept Stratford buzzing around the Burlington net, outshooting the Bulldogs in all three periods.    Stratford’s defense of Zorgdrager, Brenden Moorehead, Kobe Robinson, Brett Maguire and Charlie Rankin were rock solid all night helping goalie Spencer Lazarevich earn his second shutout of the season.

The Scotiabank Warriors travel to Guelph this weekend to compete in the Guelph Powerplay Tournament.
