Scotiabank Peewee’s win second straight
The Scotiabank Peewee Warriors defeated the London Nationals 2-1 at the Allman Arena on Wednesday night. Liam McCann, on his third consecutive start, was solid again in goal for the Warriors turning aside all but one of the Nationals shots.
Brett Maguire opened the scoring in the first period with his trademark booming shot from the point to make it 1-0. The teams traded chances in the second, but solid goaltending at both ends kept it a slim Warrior lead heading into the third. Stratford scored an insurance marker half way through the third when Carter Lewis finished off a pretty feed from Trent Zorgdrager to make it 2-0. The score held until late in the third when the Nationals finally managed to sneak one by McCann to make it close. Solid team defense the rest of the way secured the win and an important two points in the standings. Next action is Saturday, December 14th when the Scotiabank Peewee Warriors host Kitchener at the Allman.
