In their second match up of the weekend, the Hawks travelled to the old barn looking for some redemption against the Stratford Hockey Tranining Above Novice Tier 3 Warriors but they were denied.
Brenden Sippel was on duty between the pipes and he continually shut down the Hawks to skate away with the shut out! The beginning of the game saw some end to end action and both goalies withstood the pressure, but at the end of the first Grady Murphy made a brilliant pass to Cody Bach who was making his debute on forward, and Bach put it in the back of the net to give Stratford the lead. Stratford continued to work hard on the forecheck with Liam Ollson creating numerous scoring opportunities for his teammates. Sam Binns nabbed Stratford's second goal by netting a big rebound. Strong work on the blue line from Austin Musselman Rylan Hall kept the Hawks off the board. Mid-way through the second Colin Schultz walked in and scored proving he is still an offensive threat on defense. With Stratford leading 3-0, Colin Slattery went top shelf to seal the deal at 4-0. Late in the third the Hawks put the pressure on but Sippel made save after save to stone their snipers.
The Warriors travel to London on Thursday January 15th for a 7:00 showdown against another West London team.
