Big Weekend Wins for Warriors!
The Stratford Hockey Training Above Novice Tier 3 Warriors picked up two wins this weekend in a tight playoff round!

On Saturday the Warriors headed to London to face off against the West London Hawks 3B team.  With Brenden Sippel and Aidan Hill sharing the duties in net both were tested and both responded big!  End to end action in the first resulted in a scoreless first period.  But early in the second Nolan Miller nabbed a sweet goal to put the Warriors on the board.  Mid way through the second the Hawks were looking for the equalizer and putting intense pressure on the Warriors.  Relentless shots on Sippel, who gloved one without his stick, sent the Hawks back to their bench without a goal.  Carter Petrie won the draw and scored to give the Warriors a 2-0 lead.  Colin Schultz went top shelf late in the second and Petrie nabbed his second to end the second with a 4-0 lead.  The Warriors continued to pound away in the third as Aaron Green went end to end, Schultz picked up his second, Grady Murphy found the back of the net and Petrie scored his third for the hattrick.  Strong defensive play from Liam Ollson and Austin Musselman kept the Hawks at one goal and helped the Warrior skate away with a 8-1 win.

Sunday afternoon at the Allman was an epic showdown with the Sarnia Junior Sting.  The Warriors were looking for a playoff win against the one team they haven't beaten in regular season play.  They got that win. Aidan Hill got the start in net and continually came up with save after save.  It wasn't until late in the third that  only one goal got past him.  Late in the first period Colin Schultz grabbed the first goal and Sam Binns added another quick one!  Aaron Green netted one from the point to give the Warriors a 3-0 lead after two periods of play.  The third period saw Colin Slattery light up the ice with 3 goals for the hattrick, assisted by Blair Stokes and Cody Bach.   Nathan Siebert, Dawson White and Rylan Hall each dug hard to keep the passes coming  while  Carter Petrie added one more to end the game with a decisive 7-1 win.

Next action is Saturday Feb 28th when the Warriors look for the equalizer against the West London Hawks 3A team.
