Loss & Tie
written by Trevor Trainor

On Saturday November 1st, the Hiller Realty Minor Peewee Rep team hosted the London Jr Knights Green at the Allman Arena.  The Warriors got on the board first when Caleb Musselman made a great pass to Colten Cowen who fired a shot on the London net.  The goalie made the initial save, but Braydon Tinning jumped on the rebound and fired it home.  The lead was short-lived as London responded with 4 unanswered goals to grab a three goal lead before the end of the first period.  The Warriors battled back in the second period with strong defensive play from Caelan Trupp and hard forecheking from Erik Smith.  The hard work paid off when Caleb Musselman knocked home the rebound from an Owen Fraser shot to make it 4 to 2 and Colten Cowen took a feed from Owen Duiker and beat the Knights' goalie to cut their lead to just one.  Unfortunately, the Warriors comeback came up short.  The Jr. Knights padded their lead with a goal late in the second period and finished strong with three in the third, handing the Warriors an 8-3 loss.

The next day, the Warriors made a late trip to Burlington to take on the Bulldogs White team.  The first was a tight-checking, scoreless period, highlighted by strong defensive play by Nathan Graff and Jack Whitehead.  The Warriors opened the scoring early in the second period when Owen Duiker set up Braydon Tinning.   The Bulldogs responded with two goals late in the second to take the lead into the third period.  The Warriors were determined to tie it up and applied a hard forechecking game, lead by Carter Stock and Zach Carman.  The boys battled hard for the tying goal and were rewarded when Michael Tigani put one into the back of the opposition’s goal mid-way through the third.  The Warrior’s defence and goalie Nolan Traynor locked down the defensive end and the game ended in a 2-2 tie.
