Another 3 Point Weekend
The SMHA Royal Lepage Hiller Realty Minor Peewee team enjoyed its second straight three point weekend after making two trips to Burlington.

On Saturday, the Warriors jumped out of the gate fast against Burlington Red and turned consistent pressure in the home side end into three first period goals, two on the powerplay on route to a 4-2 victory. Caleb Musselman scored two and Zach Freeland tallied the other early goal with Zach Carman, Ethan Aarts, Owen Fraser, Nathan Graff, Braydon Tinning and Colten Cowen drawing first period assists. Erik Smith added another Warrior powerplay goal in period two with Jack Whitehead and Calaen Trupp helping to set it up. Burlington cut the lead to two with a four on four goal in the third period but would get no closer as goaltender Nolan Traynor made several solid stops in the last five minutes of play. On Sunday, the Warriors returned to Burlington to play the Bulldogs White and despite not being able to sustain the same effort as the previous day, the visitors came from 2-0 down to come home with a 2-2 tie.  A Smith powerplay marker midway through period two cut Burlington’s lead to 2-1 and Goaltender Dailey Trainor kept the door closed to the Warrior goal throughout period three as the visitors battled for the tying goal. With under five minutes to play Graff moved the puck down low in the home end to Carman who spotted Smith in the slot. Smith turned to his back hand and beat the Burlington goalie blocker side to tie the game and allow the Warriors to return home with a point.
