Nes-Tech Warriors take 3 of four possible points last week
The Minor Peewee MD Nes-Tech Warriors took 3 of four possible points in a successful week of hockey.  Hard work and perseverance helped the Warriors to a victory over North London and a tie over the 2nd place Hawks.

Stratford 1, North London 0

Brock Barclay got the shutout for the Warriors when they took on league rivals North London Nationals at home.  Defence was the name of the game in this one.  Stratford's own defence played one of their best games all season. Spencer Eidt, Cameron Hahn, Matthew Trachsel, Sam Gerber, Owen Akey and Ethan Skinner all played well, shutting out the London offence for the entire game.  "We were doing the little things right, which helped a lot", said assistant coach Steve Eidt.  "Brock made the first save and our D did not allow many second chances."

Offence was scarce, but the Warriors needed just one to seal the victory. The loan goal was scored "Warriors style", by Jackson Nickel.  Nickel worked away at a rebound down low on the goaltender, resulting in the game-winner.  The goal was assisted by Nicholas McCabe and Ethan Boersma.

Warriors 3, West London Hawks 3

It was a slow and scary start for the Warriors, going down by three goals in the first period.  It must have been a very inspiring speech by the coaching staff after the first period, as the Warriors woke up and played the type of hockey they needed to in order to get back into the game.  "Not sure what he said to those boys on the bench, but it worked," said super-fan Darren Akey.  "They looked like a different team out there after the first intermission."

Nicholas McCabe led the offence for the Warriors, scoring a goal on a breakaway in the second period and the tying goal in the third.  Corey VanNes scored the second goal for the Warriors, on a blistering shot from the side of the net.  Nathan Cardoso had two assists and Maddox Keller, Brody Jeffrey, Jacob Bossence, each had one helper.

Defence came up big again in the last two periods, with Spencer Eidt having a very strong game and helping Tallyn Soper shut the door on the strong London offence.

"We need to continue to build on these two games, continue to work hard", said coach Soper after the game.  "Holy cow", added super-fan Glenn Bossence, "That was good hockey!"

The Warriors next game in is Sarnia December 13th.  Their next home game is December 16th at 6:30 vs. the Bandits Black.
