The Hishon Custom Novice Tier 1 Warriors served up a two win weekend to start the holidays!
On Saturday night the Warriors took on the London North Nationals and it was a Warrior domination from beginning to end with an 8-0 win. Stratford saw goals and assists from Colin Schultz (2), Cody Bach (2), Aaron Green (2), Carter Petrie, Colin Slattery, Ryan Ganselves and Grady Murphy while Rylan Hall worked hard on the blue line. Outstanding play for net minder Aidan Hill gave him the shut out between the pipes.
On Sunday afternoon the Warriors faced off against the second place West London Hawks. The Warriors took charge 15 seconds into the game with a goal from Blair Stokes, assisted by Schultz. Stokes nabbed a second goal to end the first period and give the Warriors a 2-1 lead going into the second. In the second period Slattery found the back of the net, assisted by Petrie. Brenden Sippel was tested again and again by the Hawks snipers but wasn't letting anything in. Dawson White, Austin Musselman, Lukas Steele and Nathan Siebert fought hard to keep the puck in the offensive end and hold the lead for Stratford. An intense third period saw a few more penalties for both teams and more end to end action. Slattery scored his second of the game, assisted by Blake Hodgson but the Hawks answered back to close the gap and come within 2. In the final minutes of the game Murphy fired a sweet shot past the Hawks goalie, assisted by Schultz to give the Warriors a 5-2 win.
