Holiday Hockey Wrap Up
The Hishon Custom Novice Tier 1 Warriors participated in the Vic-Teal Christmas Tournament Dec 27-29th.

Game one of the tournament saw the Warriors take on the hometown St. Catharine's Falcons.  Aidan Hill was in charge between the pipes and had a solid showing from start to finish.  After a scoreless first period Carter Petrie opened the scoring with a feed from Colin Slattery.  Moments later Petrie netted another to give the Warriors a 2-0 lead.  Blair Stokes jammed one in mid way through the second, and Petrie found the back of the net for the hattrick to give the Warriors a four goal lead.  The Falcons grabbed one goal with 2 mins left in the second Colin Slattery was quick to answer back for Stratford to make it 5-1.  Colin Schultz netted one for the Warriors in the third and Grady Murphy put the icing on the cake to give the boys a 7-1 win.

Game two saw the Warriors take on the West London Hawks.  Despite an impressive effort from net minder Brenden Sippel, the Warriors could not get anything going and lost 8-1.  The lone goal came from Blake Hodgson late in the third.

Monday morning the Warriors took on the Chatham Kent Cobras.  Once again Aidan Hill fought off the Cobra snipers to hold them to zero.  Solid work on the blue line from Rylan Hall and Austin Musselman as well as strong forechecking from Dawson White and Ryan Ganselves kept the Warriors in the match up.  The game ended with a 0-0 tie.

Monday night the Warriors faced off against the Niagara Falls Flyers.  After a scoreless first period, the Flyers got one past netminder Sippel, despite the hard work on defense from Cody Bach.  The third period saw the Flyers grab 2 more goals to take a 3-0 lead.  Nathan Siebert and Lukas Steele worked hard to get the offence going and Slattery finally put the Warriors on the board late in the third.

On the final day of the tournament the Warriors faced off again against conference rivals the West London Hawks.  Looking for redemption after a tough loss earlier in the tournament, Stratford came out ready to play.  The Hawks drew first blood squeezing one past Hill in the first.  The second period saw the Warriors kill off multiple penalties, including a 5 on 3.  In the third period Schultz netted one to briefly tie the game.  Unfortunately, the Hawks answered back with two quick goals to take the lead 3-1.  Aaron Green fought hard to take away the Hawks offense and allowed Schultz to nab a second goal and put the Warriors within one.  Unfortunately, the Warriors came up a bit short and lost 3-2.
