The Hishon Custom Novice Tier 1 Warriors came home with the GOLD medal as winners of the Preston International Hockey Tournament!
The Warriors came out strong right from the beginning of the tournament going undefeated in pool play. The team took on the Aurora Tigers and won 7-0, the Stittsville Rams and won 7-3, and the Garden City Falcons for a 10-3 win. In the quarter final game the Warriors faced off against the Markham Waxers and skated away with a solid 11-0 win. The semi finals saw the Warriors up against the Grimbsy Peach Kings, and even though the boys were on their 5th game in 2 days they managed a big 6-0 win on the big ice! In the finals the Warriors were up against the Waterloo Wolves Gold, solid and consistent play throughout the game gave Stratford a decisive 5-0 win. Throughout the tournament a relentless Warrior team always came out hard and never let up. Tournament highlights include Rylan Hall and Austin Musselman each scoring their first "Warrior" goals (x2!) , game sheets in which multiple players had multiple points, and goalies Brenden Sippel and Aidan Hill only allowing 6 goals and 4 games which were shut outs! An outstanding team effort this weekend from: Dawson White, Carter Petrie, Blake Hodgson, Lukas Steele, Colin Schultz, Nathan Siebert, Colin Slattery, Blair Stokes, Grady Murphy, Aaron Green, Cody Bach, Austin Musselman, Ryan Gansevles, Rylan Hall, Brenden Sippel and Aidan Hill.
