Novice Thompson Warriors Start Playoffs With A Win
This past weekend the Novice Rheo Thompson Warriors were away to North London to play their 1st playoff game vs the Nationals and came away with win.

The 1st period started with both teams skating hard and lots of end to end action, each team trying for the win as playoffs commenced this weekend. The scoreboard would reflect the equal play and effort as it was a 1-1 draw at the end of the 1st. The 2nd period was a duplicate of the 1st each team scoring a single marker leaving the game tied at 2-2. Piers Murray, Reid Morris, Griffin Harvey and Owen Blackburn all played well on the backend turning away some significant chances for the Nationals.
Early in the 3rd period, London would take the lead, but again the Warriors would answer back to tie the game at 3-3. That seemed to be the turning point for the boys as the jets went into full gear and kept moving forward to add 5 more goals in the 3rd, for a final of 8-3 in Stratford's favour. Goal scorers for the Warriors were Maddyx Chaput (3), Hudsyn Chaput (3), Piers Murray and Evan Hughes. Helpers for the Warrior goals were lead by Nate VanBakel and Jake Schultz each with (2), while Piers Murray, Maddyx Chaput and Caellum Parsons had single assists.  Jack Haines constant forecheck pressure was a difference maker, while Jakob Strahm and Carter Keating played well in the net.

Next action for the Novice Warriors is game #2 of the playoffs at home Sunday Jan 22/17 vs the Nationals.
