Thompson Warriors Come Up Short In Exciting Weekend Games Against Sting
This past weekend had the Rheo Thompson Novice Warriors particiapate in a home and home series against the Sarnia Sting. Unfortunately they came up short on both weekend games, but leaving them anticipating the next matchup against the Sting.

Saturday's game was in Sarnia and started out strongly in the favour of the Sting. They fell behind midway in the 1st and by the end of the 2nd period were looking at a 4-0 lead for the home team. The 3rd period is where the Warriors would make an attempt to come back with goals by Maddyx Chaput, with the assist belonging to Reid Morris and Hudsyn Chaput with the helper belonging to Fischer MacPherson tightening up the game to 4-2. The Sting would score 2 more to again pull ahead 6-2, but Stratford would again fight back bringing the score to 6-4. Late in the 3rd they would hit the post and put forth a great effort but the Sting held on for the win. Griffin Harvey earned an assist on Hudsyn Chaput's 3rd goal of the game.

Sunday Stratford would welcome the Sting back for a late afternoon matchup. The game started out much like Saturday with the Sting getting on the board 1st, but Maddyx Chaput would tie the game 0:12 later on a lone rush netting a nice backhand shot. The Warriors would take the lead with 2 more only to have the Sting tie the game leaving the end of the first in a deadlock 3-3. Stratford would once again pull ahead early in the 2nd and add a pair more, but the Sting would answer with a pair of their own leaving Stratford leading at the end of the 2nd 6-5. Hudsyn Chaput would add to the lead early in the 3rd with the helper going to Jake Schultz, but Sarnia had no quit in them as they would battle back to tie the game and jump ahead by a pair, leaving the Warriors behind 9-7 with 2:08 remaining in the period. The young Warriors were not ready to quit and pulled Keating to allow Maddyx Chaput to bring the Warriors within a goal. With the net empty the they would put forth brilliant effort in to tie the game, having the puck come across the goal line but not past leaving the final score with Stratford falling to the Sting 9-8. Jake Schultz would net a beauty on the day and earning assists for the Warriors were Caden Ollson, Caellum Parsons, Hudsyn Chaput and Schultz. Always a game worth the price of admission when the Sting and Warriors play filling the arena with great excitement, all of which the great game of hockey brings.

The next action for the Warriors is the Saturday when they will host their West Division opponents the Oakridge Aeros.
