Big Win for Warriors over Bandits
The AJ Jackson Construction Warriors maintained their first place lead in a tight Alliance Minor Atom MD West division with a 3-2 victory over the London Bandits in London on Sunday afternoon.
It was a feisty affair and the boys came out firing on all cylinders, building up a 2-0 lead halfway through the first period. Sam Binns started the scoring on the power play for the Warriors with assists going to Liam Ollson and Logan Hallock. Hallock then scored the second goal of the game from Ollson and Owen Chadwick. Rowan Smith scored on a great effort to make it 3-0 Stratford with Ellis Schnurr getting the lone assist. The Bandits made it close scoring two unanswered goals but Lachlan Stanley made a big breakaway save to keep the lead for the Warriors. Ryan McGill also played well in between the pipes for Stratford. Luke Jackson had a strong game on defence and the line of Ollson, Hallock and Chadwick showed great hustle all game on forward. Next up for the Warriors, two games on the weekend before the Christmas break.
