Minor Atom Rep Warriors Move Into First Place
The Holloway Automotive Minor Atom Rep Warriors had a busy week following the International Silverstick, with 3 games and 3 wins!

Mid week the boys wandered down the 401 to Burlington to take on the Bulldogs.  The team was all business from start to finish.  Aidan Hill got the start in net and Carter Petrie opened the scoring early in the first, assisted by Colin Schultz.  Moments later Grady Murphy grabbed a short handed goal, and on the same penalty kill Petrie scored again.  In the second period Colin Slattery found the back of the net, unassisted and Dawson White fired one in, assisted by Schultz to give Stratford a 5-0 lead.  Lukas Steele added one more in the third, assisted by Schultz.  Strong work in the neutral zone by Aaron Green and Austin Musselman, and some well timed saves by Hill kept the Bulldogs off the scoreboard.

Saturday afternoon the Warriors took on the London Jr Knights White, who were 28-12-3 heading into the game.  Petrie nabbed the first goal of the game at the 7 min mark in the first period, with the helper from Slattery.  With minutes left in the first period, Slattery doubled the lead, assisted by Schultz and Cody Bach.   Petrie scored his second of the game to give the Warriors a 3-0 lead, assisted by Schultz.   Netminder Brenden Sippel fought off an aggressive London team to keep them off the scoresheet until late in the second period.   Murphy grabbed a feed from Petrie and Schultz to make it 4-1 to close out the second. Early in the third, while on the power play Slattery scored his second of the game, assisted by Petrie and Blair Stokes.  Some penalty trouble in the third allowed London to move within 2, but Nathan Siebert scored on a beauty wrap around to make it 6-3 and Murphy netted his second of the game on a breakaway, assisted by Schultz and Stokes to put the icing on the cake, 7-3.

Sunday saw the boys play their final game of the weekend against the Waterloo Wolves.  With Adian Hill in net Waterloo was unable to get one past him as Stratford took a decisive 6-0 win.  Slattery scored first going backhand with 2 mins left in the first, assisted by Rylan Hall and Petrie.  Just minutes into the second period Blake Hodgson moved the puck up the ice to  Murphy who fired the pass to Stokes who buried it top shelf and then Schultz slid one in, assisted by Slattery and Steele.  Stokes closed out period with one on his own making it 4-0 Stratford.  The Warriors added another goal with a top shelf rocket from Steele, assisted by Siebert and Petrie.  Stokes ended the game with another goal earning the hattrick, assisted by Petrie and Murphy.

Next Action: The Warriors travel to Waterloo January 27, for a rematch against the Wolves.  Followed by a home game vs Burlington at 2:30@ RBC on January 28th.
