The Stratford All Equip Repair Minor PeeWee
MD Jr. Warriors dropped a pair of games this past weekend. Stratford travelled to Brantford on Saturday
in what was a penalty filled affair, falling 4-2.
Nate Framst scored both Stratford goals, his first one unassisted, Jackson Campbell picked up the assist on his second goal. Hutton Patterson was solid in the crease for the Warriors staying poised in lots of traffic in front of his net.
Stratford had several scoring chances from Quinn Elder, Ethan Plotnik and Noah Rankin. Defensively the Warriors played tough, Jack Buckley, Cole Humphrey and Tyson Malcho were solid on the blueline. Stratford pulled within 1 late in the 3rd period but eventually were scored on with the goalie pulled.
On Sunday Stratford hosted Burlington at the Allman in a much tamer game, falling 3-1. Stratford opened the scoring in the first period with a goal by Sam Pepper on a nice wrist shot from the slot. Framst and Brayden Gerber collected assists. But that would be all the offense they could muster against a strong Burlington goalie.
Nick Laverty got the start for The Jr Warriors and played well. He allowed only 2 goals, both while Stratford was short handed. Burlington sealed the game with an empty net goal late in the 3rd period.
Austin Cosstick and Jackson Grasby had nice scoring chances in the game just unable to beat the Bulldog goaltender.
The Stratford All Equip Repair Minor PeeWee MD Jr Warrior’s next game is Tuesday March 13th, here at the Rotary Complex where they get their rematch against Brantford. Puck drop scheduled for 6:45 pm.
