The Scotiabank Major Peewee Rep Warriors gained 2 points on their rival Sarnia Sting with an authoratative win 5-1. The next day the Burlington Bulldogs White got the better of them in the last minute after Stratford had been leading for most of the game, score 4-3.

Scotiabank Major Peewee Rep Stratford Warriors vs Sarnia Sting

The Scotiabank Major Peewee Rep Warriors put the pressure on Sarnia early in their match on Saturday at the RBC arena. Owen Holloway and Ayden Hakkers picked up assists on a Kaden Brame goal only a few minutes in. Wes Duiker was taking hard shots on net and great passes. Luke Heisz made an outlet pass off the boards to Jared Gould who threw it off the goalie and Cole Meadows banged in the rebound to make it 2-0! Luke Zorgdrager had a timely poke check and Ethan Pearce carried the puck down the ice and circled the net. The Warriors kept up the offensive pressure but then were down a man. With 2.2 seconds left we had 4 on 4 play and the period ended 2-0.

The second period we got a power play but didn’t generate any good scoring chances. There was a lot of mid ice play. Holloway had a bar down but just rolled out and was called off. Brame made a great back check and took the puck and sauced it to Gouldy who had just come off the bench. Gould’s backhand went top shelf to put us up 3-0! We got on a power play and no time was wasted making it 4-0 with a Holloway-Brame give and go! Our penalty kill line was sharp and killed off another penalty for us. Pearce had a great hustle to the net and was tripped for a 5 minute major. He left the game injured but all the parents and players are happy to hear he is okay now. The power play was out again. It became a 5 on 3 when Sarnia got another penalty and we peppered the Sarnia goalie with shots.

Duiker rushed the puck up early in the third period. He circled behind the net and found his man in Jake Heinbuch who scored to make it 5-0! The Sting got one by Kiefer MacNeil in net to make the score 5-1. MacNeil hadn’t faced much action this game due to the solid defensive wall between him and the Sting. The game ended 5-1 — a huge win for the team!

Scotiabank Major Peewee Rep Stratford Warriors vs Burlington Bulldogs White

Fresh off a big win, the Scotiabank Major Peewee Warrior Rep team were pumped to face the Bulrington Bulldogs White who are sitting just one spot above us in the standings. Kaden Brame on his first shift got us the lead with a goal! Assists went to Owen Holloway and Ayden Hakkers. Liam Parsons in net had a good save on a 2 on 1. Burlington tied it up a few minutes later, 1-1. Sam Jeffrey was shooting hard from the point. Warriors got a penalty and Parsons showed his stuff with a nice positional save on a deflection and a great glove save.

Owen Holloway continued racking up the points with a goal on a pass in front of the net by Ayden Hakkers! We took the lead at 2-1. Jeffrey shot one of the wrong goalie’s bucket on the bench! Danny Van Straaten was generating some great offensive chances.

Parsons had a huge save to start the third period. We went on the penalty kill and Ryan Middegaal and Zach Richardson worked hard to kill it. Jeffrey had a hard point shot that bounced out to Hakkers who shot it in! The Bulldogs got it back quick to make it 3-2. Bulldogs tied it up quick with a goal immediately after the face off. We got our power play on with 1:50 left in a tie game. Unfortunately Burlington scored a short handed goal to make it 4-3. Tough loss boys.
