The Minor Pewee All Equip Repair & Service Jr. Warriors found their Christmas Magic and skated away with 2 W's this weekend.
Taking on the Hamilton Huskies Red at home Saturday, the boys were sluggish in the first period but found some energy in the second when Dylan Abel sniped a shot top corner!! Moments later Liam Ollson with persistent digging at the net knocked in the second goal for the Jr. Warriors. Defensemen Luke Jackson had a solid and consistent game defensively, stopping the Huskies from charging threw his end.
Sunday, the boys made the cold travel to Waterloo for their final game before the Christmas Break!! The game started off quick with defencemen ADAM JEFFREY snipping a shot from the blue line, to score his 1st goal of the season !!!! Shortly after, defencemen Sammy Binns cleared a puck to Logan Hallock who netted the second goal. The first period ended with solid defensive plays by the Jr. Warriors. The second period started off rocky with Waterloo banging in two quick goals, one off a PP to tie the game at 2's. Moments late, Spencer Murphy answered on a breakaway with a quick shot past the goaltender, to give the boys the lead again. Next shift, Jordan Keane made a tip up the board to Hallock who fed Lukas Steele in the high slot, who sent a bullet past the Waterloo goaltender, to give the boys some breathing room. With the energy high on the Jr. Warriors side, the Waterloo Wolves frustration picked up and so did their aggression, creating a PP opportunity for them. The Wolves scored ending the PP, finishing the second period 4-3. With the positive energy shifting quickly the Wolves tied the game up at 4's starting the third. With fans cheering positively and negatively, the game was rapidly skating down an aggressive path. The Jr. Warriors held their own throughout the third keeping their composure and playing "their game", winning battles in both ends. Abel, Keane and Hallock worked together to take the lead for the Jr. Warriors in the third! Hallock completed the hat trick ending the third to give the Warriors a 6-4 W !
