The
Royal Lepage Hiller Realty Stratford Minor Peewee Rep Warriors kicked off their
series facing the Burlington Cougars Blue this past weekend. The Warriors hosted the first game on their
home ice to open the series Saturday.
Owen Bridges got the Warriors started, when he scored the first goal of
the game midway through the first period.
Bridges goal was assisted by Cameron Parsons and Bronwyn Langis. Colton Brenzil skated the puck into the opposing zone with some smooth moves feeding a pass to Langis who buried the puck for the Warriors second goal. Late in the third Brenzil added his own goal. Cole Hishon and Nathan Slaght with the assists. The Cougars were able to get their lone goal late in the third, to end the game with a 3-1 win for the Warriors.
On Sunday the Warriors played late in the day in Burlington. The Cougars were eager for a rematch against the Warriors. Burlington quickly got their first goal of the game on the net within the first minute of play. Late in the second period Owen Hunt sent a bullet of a shot past Burlington’s goalie tying the game up 1-1. Hunt was assisted by Langis. Unfortunately for the Warrior’s the Cougars scored midway through the third for the go ahead goal. The Warriors were unable to score and the Cougars took the second game of the series 2-1. The Warriors will bring the series back to home ice on Saturday, and return for the fourth game in Burlington on Sunday.
