The ‘07 Major Peewee Rep team, sponsored by Scotiabank battled hard in their season opener in Hamilton vs the Huskies Red but came up short 2-1.
Netminders Zack Irvin and Ryan McGill shared the duties in net, with Irvin up first between the pipes. It was a scoreless first period, with end to end action and a fast pace. Each team had power play opportunities but neither cashed in. Midway through the second McGill took over in net and was peppered early with multiple shots which he turned away. Finally in the third, the Warriors got on the board with Carter Petrie going top shelf, assisted by Blair Stokes. Unfortunately, the Huskies answered back with two of their own to take the win.
