The ‘07 Major Peewee Rep team, sponsored by Scotiabank nabbed four points this weekend with a win at home and a win on the road.
Saturday night the Warriors earned a 6-1 win against the Kitchener Jr. Rangers on the road. Ryan McGill was rock solid in net, holding off their snipers and only allowing one goal in the dying minutes of the game. Aaron Green, Zack Schultz, Blake Hodgson and Austin Musselman worked to the blue line to limit scoring opportunities throughout the game. Stratford’s offence went to work early in the game with two goals from Dawson White, and single markers from Grady Murphy, Ryan McGee, Blair Stokes and Nathan Siebert. Helpers came from Colin Schultz, Griffin McGregor, Ryan Gansevles, Rylan Hall and Carter Petrie. A full team effort for the win.
Sunday night the boys were back on the road again to take on the London Jr. Knights White. Zack Irvin was on duty between the pipes and it was an end to end battle as usual. After a scoreless first period, Stratford finally got on the board with a goal from Ryan McGee, assisted by Carter Petrie and Nathan Siebert. Moments later Petrie nabbed one of his own, unassisted. With London looking steal one, Irvin came up with a clutch toe save on a turnover. In the dying moments of the second Petrie netted another one giving the Warriors a 3-0 lead. Despite pressure from the Knights in the third, Irvin and the Stratford defence held off their snipers for the win.
