Early Bird Stratford Tournament
BY: Hugh and Denise Pearce

The Stratford Warriors Canadian Tire Bantam Rep took on the GLHA Mustangs White to open the Stratford Early Bird tournament.
The 1st period saw lots of shots and zone pressure from the Warriors. The Mustangs would open the scoring with a shot from the point to lead 1-0 at the end of the 1st.
In the 2nd period the Warriors had a great penalty kill followed by Kaden Brame letting a bullet shot go from the slot to make it 1-1! The Mustangs would get 2 quick goals near the end of the period, to go up 3-1. The Warriors were able to regroup and came out flying to start the 3rd. After sustained pressure in the Mustangs zone Kaden Brame would put one top corner and a nifty move for his 2nd of the game. Then 5 minutes later Zach Richardson would pick off a big rebound and put it in the back of the net to make it a tied game. Thomas Sheldon would make some timely saves to keep the Warriors in it and the final would stay 3-3.
Next game is against Woodstock later that day. Let’s Go Warriors!

The Stratford Warriors Canadian Tire Bantam Reps were against Woodstock for game 2 of the tournament. Both teams came out playing hard and looking to get an early lead. It would be Daniel Van Straaten that would let a wrister go and find the back of the net to give the Warriors 1-0 lead after 1. The 2nd period was full of back and forth play with Liam Parsons coming up big to keep it a 1-0 game after the 2nd. In the 3rd Woodstock would get some good luck in front and put home 2 quick goals to make
it 2-1. The Warriors never gave up and would go down 3-1 with a empty netter. The team should be proud of themselves in one of the best games they’ve played as a whole in this early season!
Let’s do it again tomorrow, taking on Erie North Storm Shores at the crack of dawn.

The Stratford Warriors Canadian Tire Bantam Rep team took on Erie North Shores Storm in game 3 of the early bird tournament and Saturday. This was a heated game with a ton of scoring chances for the Warriors but we couldn’t buy a goal. The game would end 5-0 for the Storm.
Next game would be the semifinal game Saturday afternoon versus the Erie North Shores Storm again.

The Stratford Warriors Canadian Tire Bantam Reps would take on the Storm again in the semifinals this time at  the Rotary Complex. The game was much the same as the first the warriors had their chances, and some penalty trouble and found themselves on the wrong side of a 6-1 score. Owen Holloway had a nice goal late in the 3rd from great forechecking from his line mate Danny Van Straaten and Noah Hoffer to break the shutout. The Warriors look to regroup this week and get ready for a tough game versus Brantford Saturday at 8pm at the Rotary Complex. Go Warriors Go!
