BY HUGH PEARCE The Canadian Tire Major Bantam Stratford Warriors were battling it out with Burlington Jr Cougars Green and GLHA Mustangs Purple to move into a top four spot for the last week of regular season play.
The Stratford Warriors Canadian Tire Bantam Reps played host to the Burlington Cougars Green on Saturday night at the Rotary Complex.
The Warriors would get off to a rough start and go down 4-0 to end the 1st period. After a lack lustre 1st period the Warriors would get back to work in the 2nd and Ethan Pearce would get the Warriors on the board with a nifty wrap around to make it 4-1. The Warriors continued to get back to basics and out work the Cougars. The 3rd period would see Owen Holloway dish the puck to Ethan Pearce who would drive the net and back hand home his 2nd of the night, to make it 4-2 deficit. The Warriors continued to battle, but that would be the final score. The Warriors look to get back on the winning path with a match up vs London Mustangs Purple Sunday Feb 2 at Medway Arena.
The Stratford Warriors Canadian Tire Bantam Reps travelled to London to battle the London Mustangs purple Sunday Feb 2nd. The Warriors got out to a great start with a blast from the point by Luke Heisz that found the back of the net to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead. The 2nd period would see Luke Heisz get his 2nd of the night to make it 2-0 Warriors! The Mustangs would get on the board and make it a 2-1 game. This game was very high paced, and physical. All the Warriors were playing hard and battling every shift. In the 3rd Karson Stokke would find the back of the net and make it 3-1 Stratford, and that would be the final! Go Warriors Go! Next up, the last two regular season games vs Cambridge Saturday Feb 8 at the Rotary Complex and Sunday Feb 9 vs Burlington Cougars Royal at the Allman at 6:30pm.
