6 point Weekend!
By Erin Heisz and Hugh Pearce The Canadian Tire Major Bantam Stratford Warriors had their most successful weekend of regular season play ever on January 25th/January 26th.

The weekend of January 25th saw two long road trips -- one to Burlington and one to Sarnia.

The first game of the Warriors double header saw them face off against the Burlington Jr Cougars Green.  The Warriors were approximately two places ahead of them in the standings and played some great hockey to win 5-2.

The second game in Burlington was against the Burlington Jr Cougars Royal.  The Royals have had a tough year and played with heart but in the end the Warriors came out with a score of 9-0.

  • The Stratford Warriors Canadian Tire Bantam Rep team travelled to Sarnia to take on the Jr Sting on Sunday January 26.
Thomas Sheldon would get the start and did not disappoint with a great game in net. The Warriors would get out to a 1-0 lead courtesy of a top corner bullet from Kaden Brame. The Sting would tie it up 1-1 to end the 1st period. The second period would see Sam Jeffrey make it 2-1 with a bad angle shot that would find its way in the back of the net. The Sting would again even it up at 2-2. Kaden Brame picked off a bad pass from the Sting defender in front of their net and make it 3-2, end of 2nd. The Warriors would come out in the 3rd on a mission to close this one out. Danny Van Straaten would make it 4-2 circling the net a putting one upstairs. The Sting would get one back to make it 4-3. Sam Jeffrey would get his 2nd of the night, and give the Warriors a 5-3 lead. The Sting once again get one back making it 5-4. The Sting would pull their goalie in the dying minutes of the 3rd however the Warriors would deny any Sting offence and Kaden Brame would complete the hat trick with a empty netter to make the final score 6-4. All the Warriors should be very proud of their performance as they topped the current 1st place team. Next up the Warriors will take on Burlington Cougars green Saturday Feb.1st at the Rotary Complex.
