Good Effort Opening Day
The Stratford Nes-tech Minor Peewee MD Warriors showed some grit and great effort in their season opener on Saturday.  Although they dropped the opener 4 -2 against a strong Sarnia team, coach Terry Soper liked what he saw on the ice.  "For the most part, every player worked hard and did a lot of things right. We can work on some other things that will make the team compete with anyone in the league", said Soper after the game.

Newly acquired goaltender,  Tallyn Soper was stellar in net, keeping his team in the game until the end.  The first goal was scored on a great second effort by James Koch and assisted by Jacob Bossence.  The second Warrior goal was scored in the same way, by Jackson Nickel, and assisted by Ethan Boersma and Owen Akey.  "It's those second effort chances that we need this year.  That is how we are going to score a lot of goals - by not giving up on it", mentioned assistant coach Steve Eidt.  The Nes-tech Warriors are on the road Monday in Oakridge and again in North London on Saturday.  Their next home game is October 14th vs. the London Bandits at 6:30 pm.
