Hard work nets first point of the season
The Stratford Warriors Nes-tech Minor Peewee MD team travelled to North London on the weekend and left with a hard-fought point.

The Warriors were a little short-handed, but skated away with a 1-1 draw against the London North Ridge Nationals.  "The team seems to be responding well to the focused, hard-word ethic that is being instilled into them from coach (Terry) Soper", commented trainer Kevin Koch after the game.  "We were a little short-handed today, but the kids fought hard right right to the end".

The Warriors scored early in the first, with a nice shot by Ethan Boersma to the top corner of the net.  Brody Jeffrey had the assist.  "It was nice to get that early lead", said assistant coach Steve Eidt.  The Nationals fought back, but were stoned by great goaltending from Tallyn Soper.  However, the Nationals finally scored mid-way through the third period to tie it up.  The Warriors continued to battle through the rest of the game, but could not get another one past the London goaltender.

"We still need to work on some little things", mentioned Soper after the game.  "It is nice to see the hard work starting to pay off, however, working on and improving the little things will make a big difference going forward."

The Nes-tech Warriors have a busy week ahead, as they host the London Bandits Black on Tuesday night in Stratford at 6:30 (Rotary), travel to London on Wednesday to play Bandits Orange, then travel to St. Catharines on the weekend for a tournament.
