Minor Atom MD Game Summary Nov. 1 & 2
The AJ Jackson Construction Minor Atom MD Warriors played a trio of games against Sarnia and Oakridge over the weekend.

In Sarnia—the first of a doubleheader—Stratford controlled puck possession, creating a number of scoring opportunities, but couldn’t capitalize in a 2-1 loss to the Jr. Sting. Liam Hill placed a wrist-shot high and hard, beating the Sarnia netminder to earn the lone goal for the Warriors. Zach Richardson and Cole Cassone moved the puck up the boards to assist on the play. Goaltender Cameron Ground did a great job of tracking and stopping Sarnia scoring attempts throughout the game. Stratford fell flat in their second game of the day, despite a strong shooting game that included a crossbar and post, falling by a score of 6-2. Hill found the back of the net twice for Stratford, his second coming 21 seconds into the third period to bring the Warriors within one. Defenceman Luke Heisz assisted on Hill’s first of the game.

At the Allman Arena versus Oakridge on Sunday, Stratford battled toe-to-toe against the Aeros, ultimately dropping by a score of 4-2. The Warriors opened the scoring in the first period on a beautiful end-to-end rush on the power play by Heisz. Tyson Talsma got Stratford on the scoreboard again in the third period, banging in a rebound on a shot by Hill. Ground again played strong in net for the Warriors.
