Warriors picked up a win on Saturday versus the Sarnia Jr. Sting.
All three Stratford goals were achieved through the efforts of defensmen rushing the puck. Luke Heisz earned the Warriors first goal at 9:12 in the second period, drawing the goalie to one side of the net, and firing a strong wrist shot toward the opposite side. Corey Jones produced the second goal of the game, driving the puck toward the net on an aggressive rush, finishing with a hard shot that beat the Sarnia netminder. Logan Lott scored the game-winning goal with an end-to-end effort, placing the puck high on net to solidify the score at 3-2 for the Warriors. Stratford held on for the win, with all three forward lines contributing equally, and a defensive effort that forced Sarnia shooters to the outside.
On Sunday the Warriors came up short at home against the West London Hawks. Tyson Talsma earned Stratford’s lone goal of the game, picking up a rebound on a shot from linemate Liam Hill. Cole Cassone earned an assist on the play, and goalie Cameron Ground continued to put forth a determined effort in net both games over the weekend.
