Evoke Novice Warriors Settle For Draw With Nationals
The Novice Tier 1 Warriors sponsored by Evoke Marketing and Promotions played a lone playoff game at home this past weekend against the London Nationals and came away with a point.

The game began as a tight checking low scoring affair when Jake Schultz would open the scoring for Stratford when he would find a loose puck out front of the Nationals goalie and would slide a nice low shot in past the Nats tender. Hudsyn Chaput would then capitalize on a strong shot from Owen Blackburn that would make it's way to the stick of Nate VanBakel and then to Chaput who would make no mistake putting the boys up 2-0 at the end of the first frame. Stratford's defence was able to keep the Nationals shot count to a total of 4 shots through the first 2 periods. Midway through the 2nd frame the Warriors had an opportunity on the PP when Chaput scored his second of the game 0:13 into an PP. Jake Schultz would move the puck out of the Warrior zone and find Maddyx Chaput with a beauty pass when Maddyx fed Hudsyn a pass that had the Nationals tender guessing, leaving the boys ahead 3-0. The Nationals were not ready to give the game to Stratford as they would tally back with 3 unanswered goals to earn themselves a tie with the Warriors. Final shotcount was in favour of Stratford 13-11 with a final score 3-3.

Next action for the young Warrior squad will be 2 away games this coming Friday against the 2nd place West London Hawks that are eying up Stratford's first place position and a Saturday road trip to visit the Sarnia Sting where the boys hope to pad their division leading position in the standings.
