Season Opener - 3x a Charm
The Dunny's Source for Sports Jr Warriors Major Atom MD team travelled to London to face off against the Oakridge Aeros in their first league game, Wednesday October 4th.
With the Warriors falling to the Oakridge Aeros in two exhibition games, the boys were looking for redemption and they got exactly that! The game started with the boys calm, collected and determined. Jordan Keane stamped in the first goal of the game with a great end to end run, unassisted.
The second period began with the Warriors short handed, but that didn't rattle them. Goaltender Lachlan Stanley took charge of the area in blue and allowed no easy plays for the Aeros. Logan Hallock stamped the second goal of the game short handed, assisted by line-mate Liam Ollson. Ellis Schnurr saw his path and took it, throwing up another point for the Warriors to end the second with a 3-1 lead.
1:30 into the third Tyson Cassone banged in another goal. Olson put the final point up for the Warriors late in the third with assists going to Hallock and Liam Eddleston. Hats off to the boys in white, who cleared the garbage infront of the net and had a solid game, displaying consistent teamwork and aggressiveness that left the Aeros with no answers.
Up next: Saturday, October 7th @ 2;00pm, the boys travel to Sarnia to face off against the Sting.
