Holding on to 1st Place !
The Dunny's Source for Sports Major Atom MD Team had another successful weekend snagging 4 points. With 16 out of 20 league games played the Jr. Warriors continue to glide forward and hold on to 1st place, with a record of 12-3-1.

Saturday the boys travelled to London to face-off against the Bandits in their final matchup in League Play. The game started off at a decent pace with both teams battling for pucks. The Bandits did a good job of blocking the shooting lanes from the Jr. Warriors, making them look for the 'quick release shots'. The Bandits were able to strike first in the period with a puck that snuck under goaltender Devon Loerzel. The boys were producing multiple opportunities but weren't able to put away any shots until halfway threw the second when, Logan Hallock and Liam Ollson teamed up and put the Jr. Warriors on the board with a solid shot and quick rebound goal. The period had multiple penalties but the boys couldn't get any shots to hit the back of the net. The Bandits were able to net their final goal of the game with 59 seconds left in the period giving them a 2-1 lead. The defence provided good offence support throughout the game, riffling off multiple shots from the blue line and dumping pucks. Tyson Cassone was able to barry a second goal for the Jr. Warriors, from a feed by line-mate Mathew Benner starting the third. Spencer Murphy sniped the winning goal for the Jr. Warriors halfway threw the third, giving them a 3-2 victory.

Sunday the Dunny's Source for Sports Major Atom MD Team hosted the Sarnia Jr. Sting at Allman Arena. The puck dropped and the boys were off to a good start looking to net a few points early, but were stopped at the gates by the Jr. Sting's goalie. With multiple offensive opportunities, the boys couldn't buy a goal. Zach Scrimgeour netted the first goal by a two on one rush, assisted by Hallock, halfway threw the first. A minute later the Jr. Sting caught Stratford flat and were able to get their own rush and leave the period 1-1. With motivation by the coaches to shoot the puck, the boys were able to gain the lead in the second, netting three goals and barring two more in the third. Scoring for the Jr. Warriors were Rowan Smith (2), Owen Chadwick, Hallock and Murphy. Assists credited to Chadwick, Luke Jackson (2), Ollson (2) and Ryan Wilker, finishing the game with a 6-1 win. Goaltender Lachlan Stanley had a good game covering his area in blue and protecting his posts, leaving no gaps for the Sting to enter.

Last Action before Christmas: Friday, December 22nd 6:30P.M vs. North London Nationals at Stronach Arena.
