The Dunny's Source for Sports Major Atom MD Jr. Warriors travelled to London this evening to stare across from the North London Nationals for their final game before Christmas.
The puck dropped at 6:30P.M and the game was on its way. The first period ended with only two shots on net, board battles and blue line scrambles but no solid chances for either team to capitalize on. The Warriors were first to strike in the second when Ryan Wilker made a pass to line-mate Tyson Cassone who battled behind the net and fed Mathew Benner, who hit the mesh to make it 1-0. Less then a minute later Logan Hallock banged in the Jr. Warriors second goal, unassisted. Shortly after, Zach Scrimegeour knocked in the final goal of the game assisted by line-mates Spencer Murphy & Liam Ollson. With the boys up 3-0 they settled into their game and played a defensive game with Liam Eddelstom and Luke Jackson making sacrificial body saves, Jordan Keane & Sammy Binns crashing the boards and Adam Jeffrrey clearing pucks and clearing out National players from entering shooting range of Jr. Warrior goaltender Devon Loerzel. Leorzel had another solid game picking up loose pucks and protecting his keep, giving him the shutout.
Next Action: The Dunny's Source for Sports Major Atom MD Team are participating in the Wayne Gretzky Tournament in Brantford where they will face off against; Caledonia Thunder, Guelph Gryphons and Woolwich Wildcats in Pool Play Wednesday, December 27th-Friday, December 29th.
