The Dunny's Source for Sports Major Atom MD Jr. Warriors Team started their Division Playoffs against the Oakridge Aeros tonight.
The puck dropped at 7:00P.M, 10 seconds later it was 1-0 Aeros. The Jr. Warriors gave their cages a rattle, regrouped and began to play their game. The first period line-mates Tyson Cassone, Mathew Benner and Ryan Wilker lead the Jr. Warriors with two goals (Cassone, Wilker) and four assists (Benner 2, Cassone 1, Wilker 1). The line had a good game for-chcecking that lead to their goals. Logan Hallock netted the third goal for the Jr. Warriors late in the second assisted by Liam Eddleston and Ellis Schnurr. The defensive make-up of Adam Jeffrey, Luke Jackson, Jordan Keane, Sammy Binns, Eddleston and Schnurr were a large factor in the boys victory tonight. They all had a strong game blocking shots, clearing the zone, collecting rebounds and pushing the Aeros to the outside, giving net minder Devon Loerzel strong support in front. The third period the boys were able to skate away with a 4-1 victory, with the 2-4-6 line tucking away the final goal of the game giving Cassone, Benner and Wilker a game total of 3 points each!
