Minor PeeWee MD Results - by Brett Buckley
The Stratford All Equip Repair Minor PeeWee MD Warriors played a pair of games this past week.  Stratford hosted The St. Catherines Hurricanes falling 10-1.  Scoring his first goal as a  Warrior was Quinn  Elder, Ethan Plotnik and Sam Pepper collected assists on the goal.  Stratford played hard the first 2 periods keeping the score close.  Nick Laverty faced a barrage of shots and did all he could to keep the Warriors in the game.

Defensively Tyson Malcho and Hunter Currie were solid on the blueline.  Stratford ran out of steam in the 3rd period and were unable to mount a comeback.

Saturday night the Warriors travelled to Brantford to the take on the 99ers in what was a rough and tumble affair.  Brantford opened the scoring in the first period with 2 quick goals.  Stratford responded in the first period on a goal by Brayden Gerber.  Cole Humphrey and Jackson Grasby picked up assists.

The Warriors tied the game early in the second when Sam Pepper picked up his own rebound and put the puck past Brantford’s goalie.  The game remained tied in the second frame as Stratford were forced to kill off several power plays by Brantford including a 5 on 3.

Hutton Patterson was poised in the Stratford crease making many key saves to keep the game tied.  Brantford scored in the 3rd to make the game 3-2.

Jack Buckley and Cole Humphrey played tough defense keeping pucks away from Patterson as well as getting pucks to the net in the offensive zone.  Forwards Ethan Plotnick , Noah Rankin, Justin Hodgson and Lachlan MacArthur kept pressure on Brantford the entire game.

Stratford moved the puck very well and created space for offensive opportunities but were unable to tie the game up.  Although they lost 3-2 , they played their most complete game of the season as a whole. Looking to build on that game Stratford will host the top place Cambridge Hawks on Tuesday night at the Rotary complex.
