On Sunday afternoon at the Allman Arena, The AJ Jackson Construction Minor Atom MD
Warriors played a strong offensive game that included smart passes and numerous
scoring chances against the visiting Sarnia Jr. Sting.
Down by a score of 1-0, Corey Jones did a great job of protecting the puck during a hard-nosed beeline toward the Sarnia goal, blasting a low, hard wrist-shot past the Sarnia netminder at the 5:51 mark of the second period. All of Stratford's forward lines combined for an assault of scoring opportunities but couldn't capitalize. The defensive core moved the puck well out of Stratford's end, and kept the puck in the offensive zone in order to enable Stratford's forecheck. There was a small breakdown in the third period that saw three unanswered Sarnia goals within a two-minute time frame, ultimately ending the game in a 4-1 loss for the Warriors.
