Warriors Rebound in Hamilton by Brock Appel
The Royal Lepage Hiller Reality Stratford Jr. Warriors hosted Cambridge on Saturday and ran into a stiff opponent. The Warriors had trouble getting anything going and the Hawks definitely brought their A game.  Isaac Nickel had two in this one with an assist going to Colten Kuepfer.

Sunday the team travelled to Sarnia and came out strong in the first period.  Going into the second the Warriors were down 1-0 but tied it up by the end of the period. The Sting scored in the third, Hayden Beuermann kept the Sting at bay making some great saves, the Warriors pressed but couldn’t get the tying tally.  Owen Gaylor scored on an assist from Beckham McLeod

Thursday Stratford faced off against the league leading London Knights Green. The boys played a complete game outshooting the Knights 31-19.  Jesse Merkel gave the team a chance playing solid all contest.  The 6-3 final was not indicative of how well the Warriors played top to bottom, and the boys deserved a better result than the scoreboard showed. Goal scorers were Isaac Nickel, Luke Ahrens and Mark Pyzowski.  Assists were credited to Luke Ahrens, Max Harvey and Nathaniel Smith.

The Warriors finally got off the slide on Sunday, as they beat the Hamilton Huskies 6-3. The Warriors played a suffocating defensive game as they limited the Huskies to just 10 shots.  Max Harvey got the ball rolling with an assist from Luke Ahrens, the second goal went top shelf on a beauty backhand from Pyzowski.  The third marker came on a great shot from the blue line from Gaylor assisted by Nickel. Ahrens had the game winner when a scramble out front ended up in the back of the net. Nickel had a pair of wrap-arounds assisted by Brett Knechtel and Nathan Gibb to finish the Huskies off.
